If you have a young child and live here on the Coast you really should not miss this year's Kindergarten Forum. We will have the the Principals, Head Masters or other officials from all the Coastal schools. This includes: Kings Mountain, Hatch, El Granada, Farllone View, Sea Crest, Wilkinson, Picasso, Alma Heights and Good Shepard. As well, local Kindergarten teachers will be at the event to discuss curriculum and readiness. The Forum will consit of three seperate panels as follows:
12:45 – 2:00 Panel #1: Public School Principal Panel: An Overview of the District and Each of the Four Elementary Schools. The Principals will cover topics such as the budget, testing, curriculum, transfers and each Principal will share information about unique programs at their school.
2:15 – 3:15 Panel #2: Teacher Panel: Preparing for and Choosing a Kindergarten. Kindergarten teachers from some of the Coastal schools will explain what you can do to prepare your child for Kindergarten and support them throughout their first year in school, how to know if your child is ready, how to choose a Kindergarten, as well as other topics.
3:30 – 4:30 Panel #3: Private School Administration Panel: An Overview of Each of the Local Private Schools. Officials from the private schools will give and overview of their school and what it has to offer.
*There will be a question and answer session at the end of each panel. Please arrive on time as the panels will begin as scheduled.
